Game Maker
July 2, 2008
Am I dumb or what? Yesterday I felt really dumb. Really dumb. And I’ll tell you why.
Ever since I had joined this huge world of game development I have been longing for creating my own games. The only problem is that I’m no longer an avid programmer, eager to spend my late-nights coding, solving the same problems I have already solved through my career. It’s true that I want challenges, new ones, but sometimes I don’t feel like I have the guts to go through the beggining stage. Yeah, I know. Call me anxious.

Game Design Challege: One Button
June 18, 2008
I’ve just submitted a game design to the One Button Challenge by GameCareerGuide. I wish I had submitted one more, but I couldn’t finish it. If I manage to do so I’ll post it here also. So, here goes my design, I hope you all like it.

MMORPG Tycoon. I Wish I Had Time…
June 12, 2008
I loved the idea behind MMORPG Tycoon, and I wish I had enough free time to play it… but maybe I’ll someday.
Here goes the first paragraph of the game description:
Congratulations, you’re the new owner of ShadiSoft Software, the latest software development house to have gone bust when their exciting new MMORPG failed to catch the public’s attention! With a full staff of programmers, designers and artists to obey your every whim, it’s your job to reverse the company’s fortunes and become the most popular MMORPG on the block.
By the way, I saw it over Mr. Koester’s site.
Game Design Challenge: One Button
June 12, 2008
This week’s GameCareerGuide challenge is to design a One-Button FPS Game. It might sound odd at the first glance, but if you lay it on your head for a while something will show up.
At least something did showed up on my head. Two things, actually, and I’m writing them down right now.
I’ll submit them when they’re ready, and after the results are published I’ll put them up here.
[Editer] I’ve just visited the GCG’s forum thread on the challenge, and there are a lot of interesting ideas being discussed there. Go check it out.
Aventura-Solo (Text Adventure)
June 10, 2008
One of the assignments on my Game Design Basics course was to create a Text Adventure. It’s true that I couldn’t achieve the 50 points that the teacher asked, but I managed to achieve some. I hope that some day I’ll be able to finish it properly.
By the way, the text is available only in Portuguese. At least for now, I’ll try to translate it later.

Let’s keep it rolling! ![]()
Dungeons and Desktops. I need this book.
May 29, 2008
I forgot to mention on the last post that another factor that contributed to increase my nostalgic feelings the other day was this article, actually a book extract, Dungeons and Desktops: ‘The Silver Age’. I haven’t finished it yet but I’m loving it! And I already feel sad because I’ll be finishing it soon and then I will be left drooling over what the rest the book is.
Actually I feel even more sad just to think on how much it will cost me to buy it here on Brazil.
*sigh*
